    • Designing and conducting experiments or studies to answer a specific research question.

    • Collecting and analyzing data, often using specialized tools or software.

    • Reviewing relevant literature to understand the context of your research and to stay updated on the latest findings in your field.

  • Writing and Publishing:

    • Writing research papers, reports, or thesis chapters based on your findings.

    • Preparing and submitting papers to academic journals for publication.

    • Contributing to the writing of grants or funding proposals to support ongoing or future research.

  • Presenting Findings:

    • Presenting your research results at conferences, workshops, or lab meetings.

    • Preparing posters or talks to communicate your findings to the broader scientific community.

  • Networking and Professional Development:

    • Building a professional network by attending conferences, meeting other researchers, and collaborating with experts in your field.

    • Developing career-related skills, such as leadership, communication, and grant writing.

  • Ethical Considerations:

    • Ensuring that your research follows ethical guidelines, such as proper handling of data, research integrity, and considering the implications of your work on society.

As a student researcher in Transdermal Drug Delivery Lab, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and make significant contributions to the advancement of medical science. Your daily work will involve:

  • Lab Maintenance: Assisting with general lab duties, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Your attention to detail and adherence to good laboratory practices will be crucial.

  • Literature Conduct literature reviews to support experimental design and data interpretation. You will conduct literature searches, summarize relevant findings, and will participate in lab meeting presentations.

  • Sample Preparation: Conducting precise measurements and preparing drug samples for testing. You will work with pharmaceutical compounds to prepare formulation and dosage.

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Documenting experimental procedures, observations, and results. You will maintain organized records and assist in data analysis to identify trends and draw meaningful conclusions.

9-12 Research Opportunites

Assisting with Experiments

  • High school students might help with basic lab tasks, such as setting up equipment, preparing materials, or following simple protocols under the supervision of a mentor.

  • They may assist in data collection or help with the routine aspects of experiments, such as measuring, weighing, or labeling samples.

Learning Research Models

  • They will often be introduced to scientific techniques, methods, and equipment used in the lab, such as using microscopes, preparing slides, or conducting simple assays.

  • They may be involved in learning to use specific tools or software to record data or perform basic analyses, depending on the nature of the research.

Data Entry and Organization

  • High school students might assist in entering data into spreadsheets, organizing data from experiments, or preparing the data for analysis.

  • They might help with sorting and cataloging samples or materials in a systematic manner.
